Sisk, an Irish-owned, fifth-generation family business is an internationally recognised market leader in the construction space. Established in 1859 by John Sisk, today it remains a family business, innovating and pioneering best practice in construction excellence.
CI Studio was appointed to provide the strategic expertise and creativity required to refresh and modernise the brand identity, launching it in parallel with the move to a new, state-of-the-art HQ in Citywest, Dublin.
Working in collaboration with their board, we better defined the brand strategy and architecture while redesigning an overarching visual system which aligns with plans for future international growth.
The strategy was simple: the company identity and the culture of Sisk are based upon a determined can-do mentality, accomplishing large-scale international projects using the most modern methods of construction. It was important to make this strength of personality palpable.
The existing Sisk burgundy word-mark is redrawn to be clear, solid and contemporary, retaining its distinctive oval shape and introducing a brighter pop of red.
Supported by a strong, contemporary colour palette of black and greys and an improved approach to photography, the identity has been applied to everything from print and digital, to safety clothing, hoarding and wayfinding.
To re-enforce its association with innovation and technology, we designed the manifestations for the interior glass walls using dot patterns of Sisk projects spanning different sectors. This graphic treatment is bold, future focused and creates a level of intrigue for guests when visiting.
The website was designed in collaboration with Communicraft, beginning with an in-depth discovery phase that included UX workshops and user interviews — ranging from board members to new hires.
We then transformed this shared knowledge into a cohesive design system, guided by the new brand identity, ensuring consistency across all UI touchpoints while adhering to the highest usability standards.
The new brand identity and visual system has firmly placed Sisk in a position of leadership in the industry, while continuing to innovate and challenge. It highlights both sides of Sisk, indicating its strength and unique, innovative character combined with its commitment to sustainability and Net Zero.
It has helped to transform market perception of the brand and, in doing so, has boosted the morale and pride of its employees. The identity also received a great deal of admiration when it launched at the Sisk Supply Chain Awards in Dublin’s National Convention Centre.
If you are looking for an agency with that unique blend of strategy and great design, that is easy to work with and that really gets to know you, your people and your brand, then I would have no hesitation in recommending CI Studio to you.
