Sprintax is part of Taxback Group, a company that has been preparing non-resident taxes since 1996 and has expanded around the world over the last 23 years. More than 1 million people travel to the US every year to study and work temporarily. Sprintax fills a gap in the market for an easy-to-use, online software that simplifies non-resident tax withholding for US education institutions.
As part of their continued expansion into other countries globally, Sprintax commissioned CI Studio to help them with their brand strategy, in particular their brand architecture, positioning, narrative and identity.
Positioning them as the people who remove complexity from tax compliance and make it simple, we designed an identity, visual system and narrative that best reflected this.
The X character within the Sprintax wordmark expresses the joyful sense of freedom that Sprintax brings to the individual. The character is used as a graphic element to support the identity, scaling up to create abstract shapes and animations. We curated a set of illustrations which evoke that sense of playfulness and diversity across all touchpoints.
A set of hand-drawn elements were also devised to convey a personal touch and to add emphasis to messaging.
Part of our works also included the naming of Calculus, Tax Determining Software used by their B2B clients. Today, Sprintax is one of the leading global online non-resident tax compliant solutions in the world, filing over 120,000 1040NR tax returns with the IRS every year.
